Heaven’s Gait Rodeo event to help create safe haven for victims of PTSD

Heaven’s Gait Stable, just north of Cambray, is putting on a rodeo and virtual fundraiser to create a safe haven for victims of trauma. The event will be streamed on Facebook Live on July 3 beginning at 9:30 am.

This year you can safely walk, run, horseback ride, swim, kayak or cycle

APCH is encouraging participants to safely walk, run, horseback ride, swim, kayak or cycle following government mandated rules, on or before Aug. 28. There is no registration fee, however, anyone participating in an activity will be required to sign a waiver when they register. Those who wish only to donate do not need to register or sign a waiver.

Children’s summer outreach lunch program is back at King Albert, Queen Victoria

Last year, 328 free lunches were given out to elementary kids in Lindsay through Kawartha Lakes Food Source and its partners’ summer lunch program – but they’re hoping to reach even more children this year.

From June 16 to Aug. 20, the school lunch program will be distributing lunches at King Albert Public School from (11 a.m. to Noon) and at Queen Victoria Public School (12:30-1:30 p.m.) on Wednesdays and Fridays, two of Lindsay’s more economically challenged catchment areas.
