Can you identify the driver who failed to stop for police?

By Lindsay Advocate

On Friday November 8 at 1:10 pm a Kawartha Lakes Police Service constable observed a vehicle speeding on William Street north in Lindsay.

The officer attempted to follow the vehicle and activated his emergency lights.  The vehicle did not stop for the officer, but instead accelerated, turning west onto Pottinger Street.  The officer did not pursue the vehicle.

A short time later a witness contacted the Kawartha Lakes Police to report a suspicious man and vehicle parked behind a church on Victoria Avenue north.  When an officer arrived at the church to investigate he observed it was the same vehicle that had fled from police a short time before.  As the officer approached the suspicious vehicle, the driver immediately accelerated, drove across the lawn of the church and fled on Victoria Avenue.

The vehicle is described as a white, four door Honda Civic.  The driver of the vehicle is described as a white male, between the ages of 20 to 30 years old, clean shaven wearing a dark toque, dark jacket and sunglasses.

The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service is asking that anyone who may have information about this  incident to contact them at 705.324.5252.  Or if you wish to provide your information anonymously you can do so through Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.TIPS (8477) or at www.kh.crimestoppersweb.com.
