Parks Canada advises that the Bobcaygeon Swing Bridge is now open to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Parks Canada would like to thank the Bobcaygeon community for their patience and understanding during the construction period.

Prior to navigation, in Spring 2024, the bridge will require another short closure to install the final mechanical components required to optimize the bridge swing operations and allow commissioning activities to be completed. More information on the timing and duration of this closure will be provided in the coming months.

Parks Canada is leading this important infrastructure work to ensure safe, high-quality experiences for visitors by improving heritage, visitor, waterway, and highway assets located within national historic sites, national parks, and national marine conservation areas, including along the Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site.

Residents and visitors can find more information on these projects on the Park’s Canada website at parks.canada.ca/lhn-nhs/on/trentsevern/visit/infrastructure.
