BGC Kawarthas seeking new members for board
The local BGC Kawarthas (formerly Boys & Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes) is looking for new members to join their Club and Foundation boards.
BGC Kawarthas is a registered non-profit charitable organization that serves and strengthens children, youth and families throughout City of Kawartha Lakes and the Peterborough area. The mission is to provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, develop positive relationships and build confidence and life skills.
The Club Board focuses on policy, directions, decisions, financial planning and stewardship. The Foundation Board focuses on acquiring resources to meet local youth service needs.
They look for various skills: governance knowledge, board experience, legal, financial, risk management, strategic planning, fundraising, community knowledge and lived experience. The organization embraces inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility. Their leadership strives to represent the communities they serve. Board members are integral to the leadership team and are critical to helping the Club and Foundation perform at the highest levels.
