On April 20 at 10:40 pm the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service was called to attend a Lindsay residence after receiving a report that an assault had occurred.

When officers arrived at the residence, they learned that the suspect responsible for the assault had fled from the home on foot.

After speaking with victims inside the residence, officers determined that grounds existed to arrest the suspect for assault, theft and mischief to property.

On April 21 the suspect returned to the residence where the assault had occurred.

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service attended the residence to arrest the suspect, but he again fled from the home on foot.

Officers pursued the suspect through yards and streets in the area before taking him into custody.  The suspect was charged with mischief under $5000, two counts of assault, theft under $5000 and failing to comply with the conditions of his probation order.

The suspect was held in custody in order to attend a bail hearing on April 22.  The suspect is related to the occupants of the home where the mischief and assault occurred, and his name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victims.
