Arrest made following break and enter

On February 5 the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service received the report of a break and enter to a residence on Cambridge Street in Lindsay.

Police learned that while a caretaker attended the property in the owner’s absence, an intruder was found inside.

After being confronted by the caretaker, the intruder fled the area.

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch investigated this offence and identified the suspect responsible.

On April 5 a member of the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service who was on patrol observed the suspect walking on Albert Street south in Lindsay.  The suspect was arrested without incident.

Charged with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence and theft under $5000 is 32-year-old Brandon Saunders of Lindsay.

The accused was held in custody to attend a bail hearing on April 6.
