$50,000 reward offered for information on Tobin shooting in Omemee
A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of Alexander William Tobin.
On February 18, 2020, shortly after 1 p.m., members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency services attended an Omemee area residence in response to a reported shooting.
The initial investigation revealed that 18-year-old Alexander William TOBIN of Omemee, was suffering a gunshot wound and was subsequently transported by Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Further investigation indicated that two suspects were seen fleeing the area on foot and departing in a motor vehicle on Highway 7. Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), continue to actively investigate this homicide.
