100 Men Kawartha Lakes donates more than $17,000 to local charities

By Lindsay Advocate

The 100 Men Kawartha Lakes gathered on March 5 at the Lindsay Golf & Country Club for their first quarterly meeting of the year, continuing their mission of high-impact, efficient local philanthropy.

During the one-hour event, three local organizations presented their vital community projects: 4-H of Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes, Kawartha Land Trust, and Kawartha Art Gallery.

Following a member vote, the 4-H club was selected as the primary recipient, walking away with a donation exceeding $10,000.

In a testament to the group’s growing membership, the other two presenters—Kawartha Land Trust and Kawartha Art Gallery—each received $2,500.

“We are incredibly proud of the impact our members continue to make,” said Brad Campkin, one of the group’s organizers and media contact. “We are on track to hit 200 members this year. All we need is a few more good men to join us and help amplify our reach even further”.

Founded in 2018, the 100 Men Kawartha Lakes has become a staple of community support, meeting just four times a year to pool their resources.

Campkin explains it this way: “Each member turns their $100 collectively into $17,000 plus in one night.”

Since its inception, the group has donated more than $310,000 to registered charities within the Kawartha Lakes region.

The 100 Men Kawartha Lakes has partnered with the Kawartha Lakes Community Foundation to make the donation process very simple and efficient.
