Toronto’s hit new improv show: Hookup by Paul Bates transfers to cottage country

Coming off a successful run at the Factory Theatre in Toronto, Paul Bate’s Hookup is headed to cottage country. Globus Theatre in Bobcaygeon is set to show this hilarious improv show all about modern dating from July 10-12 2025.
Hookup takes the quirks, passions, and deal-breakers of random audience members and spins them into a completely unscripted romantic comedy. From awkward first encounters, to fiery breakups and unexpected reunions, you never quite know what you’re going to get—but you can be darn sure it’ll make you laugh.
“Hookup is funny, silly, sometimes crazy, but ultimately about human connection and love. We can’t wait to explore these universal themes in Bobcaygeon and to bring your stories to life on stage,” said Bates, creator and star of the show, in a press release.
Joining him onstage for Hookup are internationally renowned improv aficionados of The Second City National Tour Co Christy Bruce and Alastair Forbes; co-creator and star of the Baroness Von Sketch Show Aurora Browne; and two-time-Canadian-Screen-Award-winner Kris Siddiqi.
Whether you’re in a steady relationship, chronically single, or just flat-out confused about your own status, you’re sure to enjoy Hookup at Globus Theatre. Tickets are available now on globustheatre.com or through the box office at 705-738-2037.
