Police arrest prohibited weapon suspect in downtown Lindsay

Four people charged under the Reopening Ontario Act

A 46-year-old male drew the attention of concerned citizens after being observed wearing brass knuckles in the area of Kent Street West and William Street in Lindsay on March 31.

At around 3:45 p.m. police attended the area and located a male matching the provided description. Further investigation revealed that the male was wanted by an outside police agency and was prohibited from possessing weapons. He was placed under arrest, and officers seized a set of brass knuckles from the accused.

As a result of the investigation, the male was charged with the following offences, carry concealed weapon; possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order; fail to comply with release order.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay.
