With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Valerie Bullock, who passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in her 86th year. Valerie was the beloved wife of Derek Bullock of Bobcaygeon, formerly of Fenelon Falls, and a devoted mother to Keith Bullock and his wife Monica of Sudbury, and Kevin Bullock and his partner Lynn McGowan of Toronto.

She was a cherished grandmother to Valerie, Thomas Bullock (Cody), Derek, and Lindsay, and a proud great-grandma to Bennet who arrived last summer. She spoke to his picture every day, but unfortunately did not get to ever hold him. Valerie was predeceased by her dear sister, Jean Till (2022), and will be fondly remembered by her two nephews and their families in England.

As a young teenager, Valerie was an accomplished sprinter, never being beaten in the 100 yard dash. She was an accomplished pianist and sang in the church choir. She made her first flight in 1963, flying to Africa with a four-month old son in her arms. Always the anchor of the family, she raised two sons while Derek was often travelling. She loved moving to Canada in 1966, though going from an African 90 degrees to a frigid Northern Quebec in February was eye-opening. She helped in the development of their Engineering business and was secretary and CFO. She wouldn’t let Derek buy a newspaper without a receipt!

Valerie’s kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The family will receive friends at Fenelon Falls United Church on Thursday, May 29th, from 12:00 noon until the celebration of life service begins at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Fenelon Falls Cemetery.
