Obituary For Thomas Roger Hodgson

Suddenly passed on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Roger Hodgson, age 74 years. Loving husband of Jo-Ann Hodgson. Proud father of Michael (Kelly) and the late Mark (1978) and Greg (1991). Dearly loved and loving grandfather to Liam and Ally and uncle to his nieces and nephews. Brother of David Hodgson (Cathy Sleep), Brenda Hodgson (Murray Lush), Philip Hodgson, Chris Hodgson (Bea) and brother-in-law of Kathryn Rouse.

Roger was raised in Burnt River on a generational farm. He worked as a railroad conductor with CN beginning in 1970 (Lindsay) and worked his railroad career in Belleville until he retired in 2000. Returning to his family home in 2000, he continued operating the family cattle farm. Building on Burnt River's forestry history, together with his brother Philip, he opened Hodgson Brothers Sawmill. Roger was an active fifty-year Mason and secretary of the King George V Masonic Lodge # 498. He will be remembered for his kindness, love of the outdoors and hunting, passion for family history and hockey, and willingness to help those in need. He is remembered by this family, the members of the Burnt River community, and those at large.

Funeral and Masonic services were held at the Jardine Funeral Home, 8 Princes’ St. W. Fenelon Falls on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
