Obituaries

Theresa Audrey Campbell, a longtime resident of Lindsay, died peacefully in Oshawa, surrounded by family on January 10, 2025, at 97 years young. She was the last of her generation and was keen to join her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Ellen, siblings, George (Loreen), Kathleen, Bernice, Margaret (Hubert), Patrick, niece Karen, nephew Stephen, great niece Rachel and great nephew Aaron. She worked at A&P in Lindsay for more than forty years but enjoyed retirement in Lindsay before settling into Harmony Hills Retirement Home in Oshawa in 2023. Theresa’s passions in life were spending time with her family; her devotion to St. Mary’s; enjoying many years of campfires and bingo games at her beloved trailer at Riverwood Park in Lindsay; traveling near and far; sweeping up the floors, a habit she carried over from her curling days; knitting sweaters, toques, baby outfits; and last, but not least, a nice rum and coke over a rousing game of euchre or an impromptu ceilidh in the kitchen. She will be missed by her nephews and nieces, Dan (Lorie), Laurie (Kevin), Joanne (Tom), Jim (Pam), Greg (Debbie), thirteen great nieces and nephews, eleven great great nieces and nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8th at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay, from 10:30am-12:30pm, Funeral will be celebrated at 1:00pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 31 Russell Street E., Lindsay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to RACH Fund/Par For The Cause funds: www.parforthecause.ca/ raised for Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, and/or Ontario Shores Foundation for Mental Health, a charity dear to Theresa’s heart for over 20 years.
