With profound sadness, Stephen (Steve) Robert Barnes passed away Monday February 9th at the Ross Memorial Hospital.

After a 4-year battle with cancer, Steve is without pain, suffering and resting peacefully.

Steve turned 66 this January 19th.

Son of Edna Barnes (Hubley), 91 years old. His father Robert (Bob) Barnes also died from cancer 1983.

Steve cared for his mother since his fathers passing, our gratitude for his loyalty, dedication and love sums up Steve's life.

Sisters Paula Wensley “Barnes”, Pamela Mitchell “Barnes”, brothers Chris Barnes and Jeff Barnes. Brother-in-laws Dave Wensley, Joe Mitchell. Steve was uncle to many and many more great ones.

Steve's quick smile and love of family will be missed by all those who loved him.

Steve could be heard saying, I do what I want, when I want.

Steve loved the outdoors and spent much of his life doing things that he enjoyed.

He was talented working with his hands, his presence will always be felt when looking at his accomplishments.

Steve was born in Halifax Nova Scotia, moved to Lindsay in 1971.

Steve had many friends over the years and even though they may not have spoken in a long time, he spoke of all the good times he had.

We will miss Steve, we love you and godspeed.

We will celebrate his life this summer.
