Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the age of 78. Beloved wife of David Avery in their 34th year of marriage. Loving mother of Deb Brazeau (Dave), Scott Biden (Darnelly), and Jeremy Biden (Deb). Cherished Nana to Ethan (Sara), Lynnae, Logan, and Kyle. Predeceased by her brother, Ted Biden.

Shirls will be fondly remembered for her sassy personality, quick wit, and sense of humor — but also for her loyalty and deep love for her family. She was a devoted mother not only to her children but a mother figure to many others whose lives she touched. Shirls will also be fondly missed by her grand-pup Lexie, extended family, and many friends.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. If desired, a memorial donation can be made to the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes, which would be appreciated by the family.
