Sabine Quast, 63, of Bobcaygeon, Ontario, passed away suddenly on June 29th, 2026.

Born in Weidenau, West Germany, to the late Siegfried and Hannelore Quast, Sabine was affectionately known to many as Beanie. An accomplished sailor, she worked professionally as a Ferryboat Captain in Toronto Harbour and found joy cruising the Kawartha Lakes aboard her 46-foot houseboat and many smaller vessels over the years.

Beanie will be deeply missed by her older brother, Frank (Jill); her nephews, Max (Cayley), Eric, and Alex; her extended family in Ontario and cousins in Germany; her Happy Days Marina community; mariner colleagues and her many dear friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – MONK CHAPEL. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, at Hendren Funeral Home – Monk Chapel (6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon) If you would like to honour Sabine with a gift, it is her expressed wish that memorial donations be made to the Hospital for Sick Kids.
