Obituaries

Rose, in her 75th year passed away quietly at Caressant Care on Mary Street in Lindsay, on Thursday 8 May 2025. Born in Yugoslavia to Emil and Jelena Penove.

Predeceased by her husband Petar, she was a loving mother to Alexandra Dobozanovic, Natalie Barton, and Alisa Dobozanovic. Mama was an faithful sister JW, and was amazing, funny, beautiful inside and out, a great friend. A Mother, wife and daughter and loving sister who was understanding and patient.

She loved all flowers, but especially roses and carnations. Her favorite colours were Purple and Pink, please consider wearing these colours to her memorial. She also loved dogs, especially her dog Coco and cat Ekah, and also hummingbirds and canaries. Rose was often heard singing beautifully or just whistling as she loved to do. Mama was known as a very generous, giving, and selfless lady, if you liked something she had, she would give it to you, or the shirt off her back if you needed it.

Most of all, Rose loved her heavenly Father, Jehovah God. Rose believed without a doubt in the promise from God, that the suffering we experience on this earth now, will soon be gone.

We can enjoy life on earth as revelation 21:4,5 says “And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Look! I am making all things new. Write, for those words are faithful and true.”

A memorial for Rose was held at Lakeland Funeral & Cremation Centre, 19 Moose Rd. Lindsay on Saturday June 7th 2025 from 11- 1pm. A message was shared at 11:30 am. A reception followed.

Family and friends were asked to wear something Purple in memory of Rose, as it was her favourite colour.
