Obituary For Robert "Robbie" Johnson

Gone too soon, Robert Johnson "Robbie" passed away, leaving behind a life richly lived and deeply rooted in storytelling, farming, and the people he loved most.

Robbie was a natural storyteller with the best smile and infectious laugh. Whether he was gathered with others around the shop table, standing at a barnyard gate, or sharing a quiet moment with his cows, he had a way of turning everyday experiences into stories that made people laugh, think, and feel connected. His stories were not only for entertainment- they were how he shared wisdom, history, and love.

Farming was more than what he did- it was a way of life, what he loved. He found purpose in the changing of the seasons, pride in hard work, and peace in the land. The fields he worked reflected his character: steady, patient, and deeply committed. He brought more of the same qualities to his community, to business (Romart Sand and Gravel), and to his relationships.

Above all else, Robbie was devoted to his family and friends. He valued time spent together, meaningful conversations, and simple moments that became lasting memories. His loyalty, generosity, and unmistakeable presence made him someone people could rely on and cherish. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his strong work ethic, his quick wit, his kind heart, and the stories that will continue to be told by those who loved him.

Robbie leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Karen. He was a treasured father business partner, and friend to his son Mitch (Emily). He was deeply proud of his grandchildren, Cooper and Phoebe. He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Marian. He was a cherished brother to Patty Anne (Dave), Angela (lan), and Elaine. He was an equally cherished brother-in-law to Doug (Spring) and Debbie, and a beloved son-in-law to Arnold and Adeline. He was also a beloved cousin to Dale (April). He will be missed by many friends and family, including his many nieces, nephews cousins, and neighbours.

A visitation took place Saturday February 21, 2026 at the Hendren Funeral Homes – Monk Chapel, 6 Helen St, Bobcaygeon from 12:00pm till 4:00pm. A Celebration of Life will follow in the upcoming summer season. Please dress casually, if you are comfortable.
