Marlene Kennedy (nee Russel) passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Ross Memorial Hospital on February 8, 2026, in her 76th year.

Born in Deep Cove and raised in Langley, BC, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Florence (Griffin) Russel. While travelling the world, she met and later married the love of her life, the late Jeffrey Kennedy. Loving mother of Ryan (Kim) Kennedy and Darren (MyLy) Kennedy, and mother-in-law of the late Claudia Kennedy. Cherished grandmother of Olivia, Jaidyn, Jacob and Avery. Sister of Diana, Anita “Mitzi” (Harold), Belinda and the late Margo, wife of Jim.

She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her love of baking—especially anything chocolate—and the freshly baked cookies that welcomed you into her home. She took pride in decorating for every holiday and season, making family gatherings feel special. She cherished the many cruises and travels she shared with Jeff. She also enjoyed shopping and had a particular appreciation for a good pair of shoes.

Family and friends will be received at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES-MONK CHAPEL, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon, for a celebration of life on Saturday February 28 , 2026 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
