Obituary For Marianne (Anne) Barrington Weatherston
Anne was born in Toronto, March 30, 1938, beloved only child of the late Barrie and Edith Weatherston (Southwick). She attended West Prep Junior and St. Clements Schools. Her career began in advertising in Montreal, then continued at Leo Burnett Advertising Agency, Toronto for fifteen years. She left Leo Burnett and Toronto to live with her widowed mother in Lindsay. There she served in school transportation for Laidlaw for sixteen years, during which time she participated in the company’s environmental program promoting ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ at local schools. She was also a dedicated volunteer for Women’s Resources. An avid golfer, she was a longtime member of LGCC and served on their Board of Directors. She has requested that her estate plant a memorial tree on the course. Anne will be dearly missed by her cousin Susan Hall, of Victoria, B.C. and many close friends. In keeping with Anne’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. If desired memorial donations may be made in her memory to Humane Society Kawartha Lakes (HSKL). Donations and condolences may be made through Mackey Funeral Home or line at www.mackeys.ca.
