Obituaries

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our wonderful Aunt Mabel entered into rest on Wednesday January 8, 2025 at Fenelon Court Long Term Care at the age of 94. She was born November 1, 1930 to Herbert and Annie Miller of Fenelon Falls. She decided at a young age that she wanted to be a nurse. With hard work and determination she fulfilled her dream, worked at Ross Memorial Hospital and opened the Pediatric Ward where she remained until she retired.

Mabel is now at rest with her beloved husband William Weaver and cherished daughter Barbara Weaver and all her deceased siblings, Effie, George Ettie, Bert, Ernie, Danny, Gratton and John. Survived by her sister-in-law and best friend Shirley Miller of Fenelon Falls. Survived by devoted niece and caregiver Anne Fountain (Ken) and by many more cherished nieces and nephews. Mabel's legacy lives on through her many great nieces and great nephews and their families. A loving and cherished aunt will be deeply missed by all.

A very special thank you is extended to Fenelon Court staff for the wonderful care that they gave Aunt Mabel. They went above and beyond to help us through this hard time. The compassion we received was amazing. Thank you.
