Obituary For Leslie Butzer

Butzer, Leslie Paul
Nov 3, 1955 ~ Nov 3, 2025

Leslie passed away in his home after a 2 year battle with cancer. He grew up in Lindsay, Ontario being one of 7 children. He loved outdoor activities such as fishing, canoeing, kayaking and he loved going to the gym, fitness and lifting was a passion from his 20’s. Married for 35 years to Catherine Moore and father to Shelby Butzer.

Our first date was Leslie taking me canoeing up his beloved Scugog River so its only fitting that our last date will be when I bring his ashes back to Lindsay and scatter them into the Scugog River in the future, friends will be notified of the date.

In accordance to Leslie wishes there will be no services, cremation has taken place and arrangements entrusted to Nicholls Funeral Home – 330 Midland Ave, Midland, Ontario 705-526-5449. Leslie didn’t want people to worry so this is why he never notified anyone of his condition.

Dear Cathy and Shelby I'm reading Les obit in disbelief!!! I am saddened to hear this news! He was my gym pal at the rec ,we would run the stairs at the arena, and talk a lot at planet fitness.. He was a man of few words but to the point with a flared sense of humour ..... Please accept my heartfelt condolences at this very sad time God bless Deb McGriskin

Cathy and Shelby, I was so sad to hear the news of Les' passing. I will always remember him as the man that lived around the corner with the white scruffy pup. They both healed my heart when I lost my Penny -Les with his kindness and Bobby with his wags and paws up hugs. They quickly became part of my every day. Sending you tons of love from Oak St. Allison & Maezie.

Cathy and Shelby, Charlie and I would like to extend our sincere condolences on the passing of Les. I have heard many many stories over the past 40 years of all the shenanigans Les and Charlie got up to in their early days. He will me missed. Laurie and Charlie Fox
