Obituary For Kenneth John Heard

Ken passed away peacefully on his own terms with family and friends by his side. He was born in Peterborough to the late Ken and Clarena (Topsy) Heard. Older brother of Nancy Kemp (Jeff). Remembered by his wife Roxanne (Coombs) of 56 years, his sons Dale of Peterborough and Lee (Shanna) of Kingston. Proud Papa of Maxwell, Aubrey and Caley. Ken will be missed by his brother-in-law Randy Coombs of Lindsay and long-time friends Roger and Debbie White.

Ken enjoyed a distinguished career in Human Resources, lending his expertise to Outboard Marine, Mead Johnson, Heinz, Sunworthy Wallcoverings and Kendall. Beyond his professional achievements, Ken and Roxanne shared a lifelong passion for travel. Together with their sons, Dale and Lee, they explored North America extensively, creating countless cherished memories. Their journeys also carried them far across the globe; from an unforgettable African Safari to a captivating exploration of the Far East and an enriching expedition through South America; each adventure reflecting Ken’s deep appreciation for the world’s beauty.

Ken was a long-time member of the Peterborough Golf and Country Club, where he took great enjoyment in league play, the annual Father and Son tournament, and the many social events that brought friends together.

Visitation will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Saturday June 27, 2026 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment Hillside Cemetery, Lakefield. A reception will follow at the funeral home. If so desired, memorial donations to Sick Kids Foundation, Five Counties Children’s Centre of the Arms of Jesus Children’s Mission (Pickering) would be appreciated by the family.
