Entered into rest on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. Karen (née Mark) of Fenelon Falls passed away in her 75th year. Beloved wife of the late David John Watson (2024). Karen will be deeply missed by her brother Jim Mark and his wife Marcy of Havelock, as well as by her sisters; Vi Brady of Cambray, and Sandra Simmons and her husband Tom of Trent Lakes. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Karen began her career as a switchboard operator before the advent of modern telecommunications. She manually connected calls by plugging and unplugging phone lines at a switchboard, a role she first carried out from her family home. As technology advanced, she transitioned to working as a switchboard operator in a hotel in Toronto, where her experience and dedication were invaluable. Karen was also a dedicated volunteer with the phoning committee for the Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettles in Fenelon Falls. She had a deep love for animals, a caring heart, and an exceptional sense of humor. Above all, her devotion to her family was the most important part of her life.

Private cremation arrangements have been entrusted to JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & TRIBUTE CENTRE, 8 Princes' St. W., Fenelon Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated in her honour.
