Obituary For Julian Nicholas Havelock Case
Entered into rest peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, Ontario, on Friday, July 10, 2026, in his 85th year.
Beloved husband and steadfast companion of Liz Lilley-Case. Cherished father of Kerensa Case of Wiltshire, England, and forever loved by the memory of his daughter, Halcyon Down, who predeceased him in 2014. Proud grandfather of Sequoia and Amitola Down, who were a treasured part of his life. Nick will be remembered by his son-in-law Tim Down.
Nick is survived by his brother, James Perry Case, and was predeceased by his brothers, Chris and Adrian Case. He will also be fondly remembered by Jacquie Case, mother of Kerensa and Halcyon.
He will be deeply missed by his extended family: Robert Lilley and his wife Lisa, Katherine Lilley and her husband Dave Retzleff, John Lilley and his wife Heather, Andrew Lilley, and his grandchildren; Jade, Ava, Maya and Michael.
Family and friends were invited to the Jardine Funeral Home, Cremation & Tribute Centre, 8 Princes' Street West, Fenelon Falls, on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. A reception followed, where stories and memories were shared in celebration of Nick's life.
Nick had a rare gift for finding wonder in the ordinary and weaving it into stories that could make you laugh, think, and see the world a little differently. So rich in life experiences that he loved to share with his delightful dry english wit and twinkle in his eye. His gentle spirit found its home among the trees, the birds, beside the water, and in the quiet company of nature. His 45 year career in The British Merchant Marine took him around world, as a Reiki Master, he believed in the healing power of kindness, the strength of compassion, and the importance of living with honesty and grace. His generous heart, quiet wisdom, and unwavering integrity touched many lives, leaving an imprint that time cannot erase.
Though his journey has come to an end, his stories will continue to be told, his laughter remembered, and his love for nature carried forward by those who knew and loved him.
A life well lived. A life deeply loved. A legacy that lives on.
If desired, memorial donations to the Nature Conservancy of Canada would be appreciated by the family as a meaningful way to honour Nick's enduring love of the natural world and continue his legacy of caring.
