Jayne Fox-Bernardino, age 73, passed away after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Born in March 1952 to Karl and Florence Work, Jayne spent her early childhood years in Stouffville, Ontario, before moving several times as her father’s job transferred him.

She eventually settled back in Stouffville to raise her own daughters through their youth and teen years. She went on to work in Early Childhood Education, with a focus on pre-school ages. Jayne married John in a Graceland-style ceremony presided over by Elvis in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jayne is survived by her husband, John Bernardino, and her daughters Rebecca (Jeremy) and Victoria, and by her grandchildren Abigail, Gavin, and Ryan. She leaves behind a space that is impossible to fill and she will be greatly missed.

A special thank you goes out to the oncology team of doctors and nurses at Markham-Stouffville Hospital, to Jayne’s Paramed home-care nurse, Carolanne, and to the Palliative Care Unit at Ross Memorial Hospital.
