Passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario on July 6, 2025 in his 67th year. Ivan is now reunited with his beloved mother Annabell Kennedy (nee Ball). Devoted father of Derrick Kennedy (Stephanie). Ivan was the very proud grandpa of Addison Kennedy & Elliott Kennedy. He is survived by siblings Elvira Anderson (Murray), Bruce Kennedy, Paul Kennedy (Betty-Ann), Beth MacInnes (Ed) & Gord Kennedy (Kathleen). Cherished uncle of Jennifer Loignon (Marcel), Jeff Anderson (Becky), Jeremy Anderson (Lisa), Amanda Thompson (Sean), Paul Kennedy Jr (Carlin), Tyler Kennedy (Carina), Christopher Kennedy (Brianna), Dylan Kennedy (Katie), Doug MacInnes (Jessica), Dan MacInnes (Michaela), Dean MacInnes (Megan), Breanna MacInnes & Brittany MacInnes (Cole). Predeceased by niece Ashley Kennedy. Ivan will be missed by many great nieces & nephews, extended family & friends.
Ivan was deeply admired for his work ethic. He was the proud owner of Kennedy’s Preen-Kleen Car Care for many years. Prior to his time in the vehicle detailing business he was a bus driver for Lindsay Transit. After a lot of hard work & dedication he began working his way up to management. He became personal friends with numerous drivers, these friendships always stayed close to Ivan’s heart.
Ivan had an outlook on life that was unlike most. He saw goodness in many, light in the darkest moments and hope in times where most would not. In the wise words of Ivan, “always keep your glass half full and roll with the punches.”
For those who knew Ivan, we can find peace in knowing he is now reunited with his mother, many family members, friends & of course, his dogs. We all know, he is tearing up the streets of gold in his beloved 1969 Chevelle. Ivan will be truly missed by many. Fond memories will keep his legacy alive for many years to come.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Nurse Practitioner Carli Gerris; Ivan spoke so highly of you and held you very dear in his heart. The nurses & volunteers at Lakeridge Cancer Centre & all of his “Cup of Angels” that kept him smiling through all of his treatments. His cancer specialist, Doctor Smerdon. The Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes Hospice Team. The doctors, nurses & staff in the Palliative Care Unit at Ross Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care during Ivan’s last days, especially nurse Laurie, who went above & beyond for Ivan.
In keeping with Ivan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family Graveside Service will take place at South Eldon Cemetery in Woodville, Ontario.
