Passed away on December 23rd, 2025, 6 days into her 107th year.

Born December 17th, 1919, on Sneek , Friesland, Nederland.

Loving mother of Bert (Jill) and Jim (Lorraine). Cherished Oma of Adam (Michelle), Hilary, Carrie (Mike), and James (Vicky). Great Oma of Marley, Ethan, Victoria (D.2013), Owen, Charlie, Jacob, Logan, Ryleigh and Lennon. Hinke is predeceased by her husband Tom (D.1999) and by siblings Zus, Hennie, Egbert, Bertus, Willem, Tineka.

Hinke met her late husband Thomas Hugh Worwood during the war as he was a Canadian soldier. They fell in love and got married on November 27th, 1945, the day before he shipped out. She came to Canada as a war bride in August of 1946.

Hinke had the soul of a pioneer, energetic, eager to learn, a go-getter, ready to go the extra mile, strong-willed with a mind of her own, fearless and averse to false appearances, not easily intimidated, and straightforward.

She had a profound appreciation for the beauty of nature, a gentle strength and a kind heart that touched everyone, she will be missed by everyone that knew her.

A celebration of life will take place at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES-MONK CHAPEL, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon, on Saturday January 24th, 2026 at 1:00 PM. With visitation to commence one hour prior. Inurnment will take place later in the summer.
