In Loving Memory of Gail Leaver.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Evelyn Gail Leaver, (née Tullock)

Gail, passed away in her home, surrounded by family on Thursday, September 18th, 2025. Born on March 13, 1951, Gail graced the world with her warm and generous spirit for 74 years.

Gail is survived by her beloved mother, Evelyn Tullock, who continues to cherish her memory. She leaves behind her loving children: Matthew George Leaver (Misty Leaver), Chad Andrew Leaver (Frank Paulo De Francesco); and Julia Anne Kirby (Kenneth Wayne Kirby). Gail was a proud grandmother to Caitlyn, Maddison, Andrew and Declan Leaver; and she was a loving step-grandmother to Cole and Jaelyn Kirby.

She is also survived by her two brothers, Douglas and Michael Tullock, and her two sisters, Constance (Connie) Saltern and Patricia (Patty) Thompson; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Percival (Pete) Tullock (September 14, 1988), and her loving husband, George William Leaver (December 1, 2024).

For 51 years, Gail’s heart and soul were deeply woven into the fabric of the beautiful community of Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Alongside her beloved husband, George - Gail and her family ran two of Bobcaygeon’s most cherished businesses: Kawartha Meats and Deli (1982 - 1997), and The Original Just for the Halibut (2007 - present). As Chief Financial Officer, she was the backbone of both enterprises, but her role was never confined to the books. She was the heartbeat of the storefront of both institutions — welcoming customers with a glowing smile, a cheery laugh, and a radiant joy that made every person feel like a family member coming home.

Gail found pure delight in the sparkle of casino nights, the laughter of bingo halls, the rumble of classic cars and drives in the countryside.

Known for her boundless generosity, Gail gave freely of her time, talents, and heart. Her legendary pies, tarts, coffee cake and Christmas puddings warmed the soul. Gail’s homemade preserves of corn relish, red pepper jelly, and strawberry and peach jam carried the comfort of a country home to every table. Her knitting, too, was a quiet act of love. Countless baby sweaters and blankets for new arrivals were perfectly stitched with intention and kindness. Always given freely, Gail’s cozy creations and delightful, sweet treats filled hearts with joy and reminded everyone they were deeply loved.

Her legacy of generosity will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren and extended family.
