Obituary For Douglas George Morden

Suddenly and unexpectedly, at his home in Trent Lakes, at the age of 82. extensive open-heart surgery in 2008 saved his life and extended it for another eighteen amazing years. He is survived by his wife Glenda (nee Dettman) of 58 years. Also survived by his son Jeffery "Jeff" Morden and his wife Elizabeth Jones "Liz", and their children Ethan and Kendaill and by Cynthia's son Keiffer McEwan, Predeceased by his daughter Cynthia McEwan (October 25, 2020).. Doug will be missed by many cousins and friends. Dear son of the late Harold and Mary Morden. Doug was raised in Lindsay, Ontario and then worked at General Motors in Oshawa for 37 years. After retirement, he enjoyed many travelling trips across Canada. He liked to listen to country music, watch NASCAR races on TV, Oak Island and anything to do with history. He had a great passion for searching and recording his personal family history and acquired his personal UEL designation and also for his daughter, son and grandchildren. The family of Doug Morden received friends at the Stoddart Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 24 Mill Street in Lindsay, on Friday, June 5 2026 from 6 - 8 p.m. A service to celebrate his life was held in the Chapel on Saturday, June 6 at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy , the family would appreciate your consideration of a donation to the Heart and Stoke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kawartha Branch United Empire Loyalists Association of Canada.
