It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Douglas “Doug” Peshal, on October 14, 2025, at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Lindsay, Ontario on Hallowe’en, October 31, 1964, Doug was one of four children to Marceline Violet Ruth Peshal (nee: Earle) and Clifford Steven Peshal. Doug lived his entire life in the community he loved. A proud graduate of Lindsay Collegiate Vocational Institute (LCVI) and Sir Sandford Fleming College, Doug built his life and legacy through hard work, integrity, and a deep love for family, craftsmanship, and laughter.

Doug was a devoted partner to Tammy and a caring father to Jessica, Nevin and Jackson, and his grandchildren, Henry and Oliver.

An exceptional craftsman, Doug worked for many years at Koch Glitsch Canada as a Tool and Die Maker, where his skill and precision were unmatched. Whether in the shop or his home workshop, Doug could make anything—his attention to detail and artistic eye transformed wood and metal into works of enduring beauty. He took pride in his work, never cutting corners, always aiming for creativity, ingenuity, and perfection.

Those who knew Doug will remember his quick wit, mischievous grin, and easy laugh that could fill a room. His humour, often dry and clever, lightened even the toughest moments and brought joy to those around him. Beneath the jokes and banter was a heart of gold—kind, loyal, and generous to all. Doug’s legacy will live on through his craftsmanship, his humour, and the countless memories shared by those who love him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.

A private family service will be held, with a celebration of life to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice.
