Obituary For Diana Doreen Montgomery

As the sun rose on Friday, June 26, 2026, Diana Doreen Montgomery passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side. Saying goodbye to someone you love is never easy, but knowing they are finally at peace and reunited with other loved ones gives us a sense of comfort. She prepared us well for the eventuality, but you’re never ready to lose a parent. She was the heart of our family and her absence will leave a deep and lasting void. We said goodbye to a wonderful, generous and extremely strong woman. As a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, and good friend to so many, she was loved and cherished. All the laughter and smiles we shared, we will forever hold in our hearts. The past few years have been a tremendous test for Mom, one that she met with stubborn optimism. She endured the pain that accompanied her declining health yet was still smiling and welcoming to all! Her courage and grace were inspiring.

We are left to miss her warm presence and positive spirit. She was a loving Mom to Brad (Erin), Melinda (Lorne) and Syndy (the late Shawn-former partner and cherished friend). Nana to Brandon Beers (Raquel), Tyas Montgomery (Kelsey), Cassidy Vukasovic (Jeffrey) and Adynn Montgomery. She was Great-Nana to Aubrey Montgomery and Henry Vukasovic. We have been blessed to have had so much time with Mom and we take comfort in knowing that she will be reunited with Dad (Melville - 2009), her parents Jim and Sara Jane Lytle, her brother Alvin “Sonny” Lytle, brother and sister-in-law; Clarkson and Ruth Montgomery and sister-in-law, Sandra Montgomery. Mom is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Mary Lytle, and brother-in-law, Jim Montgomery. Visitation took place at the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay on Friday, July 3rd from 10:00am until the time of funeral service in the chapel at 1:00pm. An interment followed at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay. If desired, a memorial donation to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation, or St. Paul’s Anglican Church, would be appreciated by the family.

“The thought that makes us smile now, even as the tears fall down, is that the only scars in Heaven, are on the hands that hold you now”
