Obituary For David Thomas Eade

David Thomas Eade (November 25, 1958 – June 12, 2026), affectionately known as "Smokey," passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, after a difficult and courageous battle with illness. Dave was a lifelong member of our community. He grew up here, loved living here, and dedicated 35 years of hard work to Bonar Plastics, a job he proudly started at the age of 16. His coworkers there were like family to him. For 25 years, Dave and Lynn shared a life built on deep devotion and love. Through all of life's seasons, Lynn was his constant anchor, standing by his side with unwavering strength and care until the very end. Though his final chapters brought heavy health challenges, Dave is now free from pain and confusion, resting in comfort and peace. His family was grateful to gather by his side in his final days to see him onward. He will be remembered for his incredible work ethic, his warmth, and his kindness.

Dave is predeceased by his loving parents, Thomas Jack Eade and Winifred "Winnie" Eade. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lynn, and Lynn’s family, who loved Dave very much. He is the loving brother of Debra Eade Chatten and Deana Eade Jilesen. Dave leaves behind his children: Shannon Fretz, April Eade, and Jonathan (Sonia) Eade; and his cherished grandchildren: Brooklyn, Noah, and Lilah Eade, Izabella Fritz, and Brett Wickert. He is also fondly remembered by his stepchildren of 25 years with Lynn: Ellen Slatcher, who loved Dave deeply as a father and has been her mother's absolute rock, taking care of Dave to the very end; and Thomas Slatcher, who holds a long and meaningful history with Dave. He remains in loving memory in the hearts of the Eade and O'Toole families, his lifelong friends, and his beloved work family at Bonar Plastics. He will be dearly missed by all.

A Message of Gratitude from Lynn

My sincere thank you to the staff of the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario, specifically on the fourth floor, surgical north. Lynn would also like to thank the PSW’s from 19 Hamilton St. for their dedicated care for Dave.
