Obituaries

Clare Perigoe, aged 88, of Lindsay and formerly Caesarea, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Victoria Manor. He was the beloved husband of Marie (née Fairman) for 68 years. Loving father of Dianne Grieve (Rick), Nancy Hickox, Tom (Stephanie), and Brenda Hatfield (Kevin). Loved Papa of Chris, the late Steven (Liz), Mandy (Doug), Mark (Katie), and Tamara (Tim). Great Papa of 12; Larissa, Christopher, Megan, Sydney, Nathan, Leah, Alesha, the late Brandon, Avery, Michela, MacKinnon, and Graysen. and Great-Great Papa of 4; Emberlynn, Jessie, Oaken, and Ozzy. He was predeceased by his siblings; Grace, Vern (Marion), Joy Werry (Ted), and Marilyn Hewson (Greg). Clare will also be remembered by his extended family, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Clare spent time racing pigeons in Caesarea and spent many hours training with them. After retiring from Duplate/PPG following 35 years of employment, he enjoyed life at Sturgeon Lake and spent winters in Florida. He loved their cottage life on Anstruther Lake, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, dancing, and socializing with family and friends. Always one for a joke, he shared much fun and laughter in his life. Clare was a proud member and volunteer of Royal Canadian Legion Branches 238 and 419, and Lindsay Moose Lodge. Clare’s family thanks his caregivers at Victoria Manor for their care and compassion over the past few years.

Interment will take place at Nestleton United Church Cemetery. A Celebration of Clare's Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 67 (12 York Street North, Lindsay), on Sunday September 21, 2025 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. If desired, a memorial donation can be made to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation, or charity of choice.
