Obituary For Brant Ellwood Jones

It is with great sadness that his family announces his passing on July 7, 2026 at the age of 62. Brant passed away doing what he loved most in life, on the land where he was raised and forever cherished. He was the much loved husband of Carolyn and immensely proud father of Courtney (Aaron), Eli, and Jamie Lyn (Nate) who will miss his quiet guidance and his unforgettable sense of humour. He was an incredibly proud grandfather to his cherished granddaughter, Letty and eagerly anticipated the arrival of his second grandchild.

Brant is survived by siblings Glen, Deborah (George), Philip (Laurie), sister-in-law Kathy (Allan 2017), Carolyn’s siblings Valerie (Dave), Scott (Claudia), Janet and many nieces and nephews. He was the beloved son of the late Eli (2016) and Elsie (2021) Jones.

A farmer through and through, Brant found his greatest joy in the fields and among his beloved polled herefords. His passion for farming was evident in everything he did including showing cattle for both himself and his dad with much pride. In addition to farming, Brant had a love for trees and was an accomplished forestry technician who established a business and dedicated many years to the forestry services industry. He loved his sports, especially hockey, with baseball a close second, but above all else, Brant’s greatest love and pride was his family. His quiet strength, kind heart, gentle nature and genuine interest in others made him someone people naturally gravitated towards. He will be remembered as a humble, hardworking man whose life was rooted in family, friendship and the values of honesty and perseverance.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, there is comfort in knowing he spent his final moments in a place he loved, doing the work that defined so much of his life. Those who knew Brant will carry his memory in their hearts and honour him in the countless stories, lessons and moments they shared with him.

Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Brant’s life and share some laughs in a casual setting on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Fenelon Falls Community Center, 27 Veterans Way, Fenelon Falls. Words of remembrance will be shared at 7:00 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to the Hospital for Sick Kids or Cops for Cancer - Pedal for Hope and can be arranged by cheque.

Arrangements have been entrusted to JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & TRIBUTE CENTRE, 8 Princes' St. W., Fenelon Falls, 705-887-3130. Staff will be on-site during the celebration of life to assist with any donations.
