Blaine Alsop passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the Age of 81, at Ross Memorial Hospital. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was an inspector, a singer, a trapper, a scrapper, a driver, a car wash remover, a councilman, a founder, and at times, an inventor. He worked at GM, Denure Tours, Jardine Funeral Home, and a multitude of places in between.

Blaine was the beloved husband of Judith A. Alsop (nee Carew) for just almost 51 years. Loving father of Ward Alsop and his wife Lia of Cameron, Darryl Alsop and his wife Sarah of Oshawa, and Denise Benjamin of Trenton. Blaine was predeceased by his son Dwaine Alsop (2023) and his son-in-law Jeff Benjamin. Blaine is lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To August and Isobelle, who lived closest, he was Grampy, an after-school chauffeur, a source of immense, unconditional love, and also, a source of seemingly endless supplies of Werther’s candy.

The family of Blaine Alsop will receive friends at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & TRIBUTE CENTRE, 8 Princes' St. W., Fenelon Falls, on Friday, March 20th for a memorial visitation from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Whether you sat with him in a big shed on a dusty dirt road, drove with him to the beaches of Florida, worked the line at the truck plant, or knew him some other way, we encourage you to visit, share stories, and spend time together remembering Blaine.
