Peacefully, surrounded by family and love, Barbara passed away after a brief illness in Lindsay, Ontario at 84 years of age. Barb grew up in the East York and Beaches neighborhood's of Toronto and met Glen, the love of her life, in 1960. They married in 1962 and enjoyed over 65 years of shared laughter, travels, and sunsets on Balsam Lake. Barb manifested her lifelong love of books in her career as a librarian at Centennial College. Her crafts of bunka embroidery, woodwork paintings and stained glass infused the family homes in Guildwood then on Balsam Lake with creativity and whimsical joy. Barb was happiest when surrounded by family - her children, Craig and Andrea , and her grandchildren, Taylia, Benjamin, Evan, Alexandra and Brody. Memories of time spent with her in Calgary/Invermere, Mahone Bay and, especially, Balsam Lake will be cherished forever. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Ross Memorial Hospital. Visitation was held at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Monday, March 9th from 1:00pm until time of funeral service at 2:00pm followed by a reception. Interment will take place at Kirkfield's Lakeview Cemetery once birds are singing this spring.
