Obituary For Audrey Grace Little (née Risebrough)
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Audrey Grace Little of Little Britain, Ontario who passed peacefully in her home on July 12, 2025 in the presence of her family. She was in her 82nd year.
Predeceased by father John, mother Elsie, and brother Harvey (Janet) Risebrough. Audrey is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Graeme Little. She will be fondly remembered by her children; Steve Little (Cheryl), Bonnie Patterson (Darryl), Trevor Little (Karen), and Jeff Little (Katrina). She was Grandmother to thirteen grandchildren; Mitch, Doug, Mason, Mike, Jon, Russ, Marissa, Alanna, Andrea, Rebecca, Jessica, Graeme, and Naomi. She also had three great-grandchildren; Harlow, Louise, and Terry. Her family was the love of her life, and she showed this love through her generosity.
Audrey was born on June 26, 1944 in Unionville. She spent her early years living on a farm in Agincourt, and later moved to the Little Britain area in 1963. She continued her contributions to the farming life at Case Hill Farm in Little Britain by keeping the family business finances extremely organized. She spent many hours canning vegetables, tending to the orchard, and grooming her flower gardens. Every summer, Audrey took great pleasure in entertaining her extended family on the farm at the annual Little picnic.
At heart, Audrey was an educator. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Waterloo. She spent 33 years working for Trillium Lakelands District School Board at Mariposa Elementary and Dr. George Hall School as a secretary, librarian, and educational assistant. She was proud to be invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony following her submission to name Dr. George Hall School, which sought to memorialize her late doctor’s famed medical accomplishments. After her retirement in 2003, Audrey continued her role as an educator by teaching her grandchildren how to read, write, bake, and many life lessons. She also greatly supported their post-secondary education.
Audrey and Graeme looked forward to their special time together on Sunday drives. Audrey loved watching the news and reading the paper at the kitchen table with Graeme. She also enjoyed challenging herself with Suduko and crossword puzzles. Audrey’s home was a beautifully curated reflection of her family’s history, with each treasured possession holding a unique story she lovingly shared in fine detail. These stories and the memories they carry will live on in the hearts of those to whom she passed them.
A private family interment has taken place at the Little Britain Christian Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place at Celebrations, Lindsay on Friday, July 25th from 2:00 until 4:30pm.
The family extends special thanks to the healthcare teams from Humber River Hospital’s Surgical Department, Lakeridge’s Oncology Department, and Ross Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department. Paramedics and the Medical Palliative Care team were outstanding in their compassionate care.
