Obituary For Audrey Elaine Tamlin (Cameron)
Entered into rest peacefully with family by her side, at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, on Friday May 9th, 2025 in her 90th year. Audrey was the beloved wife of the late Earl (2002) and the loving mother of Karen Giberson (Len), Cameron Tamlin (Anne) and Todd Tamlin. Audrey leaves behind grandchildren Kerrie, Jeff (Mackenzie), Brent (Shealaine), Ryan (Trish), Jessica (Adam), Luke (Sierra), Matt (Janet), Michelle, and great grandchildren, Abby, Mason, Eddie, Gavin, Leo, and Teddy. Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Myra Coppins, stepfather Leo Henderson, and Algar Cameron, and her siblings, Ray Cameron, Doreen Armstrong, and Helen Hughes. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Audrey was born and raised on a farm in Cambray. After her school years, she worked at Allen Wood Products in Fenelon Falls making toys. She met her future husband, Earl Allan Tamlin, through the Young People’s Group at church and they were married Sept 18th, 1954. Audrey was a proud housewife and mother who occasionally worked at Stedmans, Woolworths, and Maxi Drugs.
Music and dancing were her passions and many a party ended well into the early hours of the morning with Audrey on her toy kazoo. She enjoyed playing for the Oakwood Bears softball team and later volunteered with Cambray United Church in the UCW, choir, and presbytery. Cottaging at Redstone Lake with her brother Ray and his family, sleeping with bats and making spur-of-the-moment boat trips across the lake at midnight were part of Audrey’s life. Visits to Algonquin Park to see moose were also a favourite pastime every spring and the annual summer Tamlin family reunion was never missed. Trips to California, Hawaii and England were also part of Audrey’s adventures.
Audrey enjoyed a good game of euchre with her friends and family and for many years she enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s hockey games and other sports activities. Although less active in her last few years, family and friends are left with many wonderful memories.
Visitation will be held at Mackey Funeral Home on Friday, June 13th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm and on Saturday, June 14th from 12:00pm until time of funeral service at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Eden Cemetery. If desired, a memorial donation can be made to Cambray United Church, the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, or a charity of your choice. Donations may be made by cheque through Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay.
“You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide,
Though we cannot see you, you’re always by our sides.”
