Obituaries

Anne Aitken (née Cunningham), 82, went to rest peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at Ross Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side. Anne is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, William, her children Paul (Barb) and Cheryl (Chris), grandchildren Cameron (Shannon), Kir, Kyle, Ryan, and Evan, and sister Ruth. Anne was predeceased by her parents, William and Jennie, and brother-in-law Trevor.

Having met and fallen in love with William Aitken in Scotland, through their church choir, the newly-weds moved to Canada in 1963. They planted roots which flourished through their community of neighbours, golf club friends, church congregation and small groups, and their growing family. Anne is remembered and missed by her many friends and extended family, both in Canada and the UK. Her impact on us will be cherished forever as we remember her charm, wit, thoughtfulness, compassion, and grace.

A celebration of Anne's life will take place at Knox Presbyterian Church, Bobcaygeon, on July 15, 2026 at 2pm. Casual attire is welcome. Please join us for a time of fellowship and refreshments immediately following the service.
