New star-studded show added to 2025 season at Globus Theatre

Globus Theatre is thrilled to announce that in just two weeks they will be welcoming two stars of global sensation Come From Away to the stage in Bobcaygeon. New cabaret, Lights, Love and Lyrics, is set to premiere at Globus on June 14th, 2025. This project, produced by Lisa Horner, will be a tribute to the great love songs of movies and musicals performed by Horner’s Come From Away co-stars Cailin Stadnyk and David Silvestri, as well as musicians Richard Evans and Jon Maharaj.
“After Come From Away ended I wanted to keep the joy and everything that show meant to me alive. It seems unreal that it’s over, but we’re the luckiest performers in Canada as far as I’m concerned having had the gift to perform in the show for so long,” said Horner in a press release. “When I saw the cabaret that Cailin and David had created, I thought it would be a perfect chance to keep the fun going and also spend time with really dear pals. Not to mention our pianist Richard Evans and bassist Jon Maharaj…we’re all, quite simply, a family.”
Horner is a director, teacher, writer, and award-winning actress. She recently starred as Beulah Davis, head of the Gander Legion in Come From Away at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. Other Mirvish theatre credits include The Wizard of Oz, Kinky Boots, Les Misérables, and the world premiere of My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding. She may be a familiar face at Mirvish Productions, but she is also no stranger to Globus Theatre. As a former Globus company member, Horner starred in The Dating Game and Buying the Moose.
“One of the favourite parts of my job is when I get the opportunity to bring world class talent to our little rural theatre. Our patrons love seeing fabulous performers in an intimate setting right here in our community. When Lisa offered Globus this show I accepted immediately and can’t wait to enjoy the cabaret alongside our audience,” said Sarah Quick, artists director at Globus.
Cailin Stadnyk, who played the role of pilot & first female American Airlines captain Beverley Bass in Come From Away, is a sought-after leading lady in the world of theatre. Singer, dancer, motion capture performer and award-winning actress Cailin is best known for her musical theatre credits, including Mamma Mia! (Theatre Aquarius & WCT), Mary Poppins (Persephone Theatre & WCT), Cats (Theatre Calgary), Cabaret (Showcase Festival), Fiddler on the Roof (Vancouver Playhouse), Les Misérables (Chemainus Theatre), and many more.
David Silvestri starred as Claude Elliot, the well-liked mayor of Gander, in Come From Away in Toronto as well as in Australia. Some of his many theatre credits include Kinky Boots (Mirvish), Les Misérables (Mirvish), Sweeney Todd (Theatre Regina), and Death of a Salesman (Centre Stage).
Lights, Love and Lyrics will begin showing at Globus Theatre on June 14th, 2025, at 8pm.
