National Defence to hold public engagement sessions

The Department of National Defence (DND) will host public engagement sessions to answer questions and provide details about the upcoming construction of the Arctic Over-The-Horizon (A-OTHR) Transmit Site at 0 Thistle Trail, Kawartha Lakes. Community members from Kawartha Lakes and surrounding areas are invited to attend. DND experts will be available to discuss the project. Sessions are expected to last two hours, depending on attendance, and will include a presentation on the project followed by a question-and-answer session.
When: September 9, 2025, 2:00 pm EDT and 7:00 pm EDT
Where: Coboconk Community Centre, 9 Grandy Rd., Coboconk, ON
This venue is wheelchair accessible. On-site and street parking are available.

I hope that local Kawartha Lakes Businesses will be able to qualify as subcontractors and service providers to what will ultimatley be some large General Contractor who is awarded the Federal Government contract for site clearing, civil works, aggregates, fencing, concrete, waste disposal and various trades.
