Mike Jack and his wife Jamie recently broke the Guiness World Record for longest habanero pepper kiss.

Mike Jack has 20 Guinness World Record titles to his name, a feat not many can relate to.

Now living in Nova Scotia, he grew up in Cameron and Cambray and attending school in Fenelon Falls.

Jack developed a love for hot sauce while in was in college. He worked his way up to having a strong tolerance for even the hottest of sauces. “After about 15 years, I was using Carolina Reaper hot sauce like ketchup,” he said.

After a friend told him about how people were eating these hot peppers on YouTube, Jack decided to give it a try and started his social media presence under the name Mike Jack Eats Heat. “I started with a video eating one pepper, but ate more and more each video, and eventually I started breaking records,” he said.

One of his most recent records was shared with his wife, Jamie Jack, for having the longest habanero kiss. They had to eat a habanero pepper in under a minute before pressing their lips together and holding them together for as long as possible. They set a new record of 15 minutes beating the previous time of three minutes and 37 seconds.

“It was amazing to see Jamie earn a Guinness World Records title. Jamie is my coach and has helped me push through all of the record breaking challenges, so it’s great to see her get the recognition she deserves,” Jack said.

Jack earned his 20th Guinness World Record title in August for the fastest time to eat 50 ghost peppers, finishing in 14:37 minutes.

There are a number of records he would still like to try to beat. “I’d most like to do something with Pepper X which is the new Guinness World Records title holder for “world’s hottest pepper,” Jack said.

However, the public doesn’t have access to the pepper yet, but Jack is hoping to be near the front of the line when it’s available.
