Celebrate the legendary music of Johnny & June at Globus Theatre
Calling all fans of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash! From Oct. 23-25, audiences are invited to “Walk the Line” at Globus Theatre for Johnny & June — a foot-stomping, hand-clapping concert celebrating two of country music’s most legendary icons.
Directed and produced by Chris McHarge and Colin Stewart, Johnny & June traces the incredible life and music of Johnny Cash, from his gritty early days in Folsom Prison to the bright lights of the Grand Ole Opry and ultimately into the hearts of millions around the world. Along the way, audiences are invited to share in the timeless love story between Johnny and June Carter Cash — a bond that inspired some of the most beloved songs in country music history.
Starring accomplished musician and performer Aaron Solomon as Johnny Cash and the multitalented Karen Coughlin as June Carter Cash, this show captures the magic, music, and enduring bond that defined their story. Globus Theatre audiences should recognize Solomon as having performed here numerous times with Leisa Way, and with his own band at one of the legendary LAB New Years Eve parties. Solomon has been portraying Johnny Cash in this production since its inception in 2010. Known for his powerhouse vocals, Solomon has shared the stage with renowned artists including Shania Twain, Big Sugar, and Jeff Healey, and regularly stars as other musical icons including Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.
Coughlin describes playing June as “a gift” — a role she is thrilled to reprise. A versatile singer and actor, Coughlin has recently toured her acclaimed production The Linda Ronstadt Show – Her Songs, Her Story, and her impressive stage credits include leading roles in Beauty and the Beast, Guys and Dolls, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline. Backed by a dynamic live band featuring Doug Eyre on bass, Chris Norley on guitar and another familiar face at Globus – Don Reid – on drums, this unforgettable production brings Johnny and June’s timeless songs and love story to life.
