By Lindsay Advocate

The axe throwing fundraiser will happen on Sept. 13 at the Solidarity Axe Club.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kawartha Lakes–Haliburton is thrilled to announce the launch of a brand-new community event as part of Big Brothers Big Sisters Month —Targeting Potential.

Join us Saturday, Sept. 13, at Solidarity Axe Club in Lindsay for an afternoon and evening of fun, friendly competition, and support for local youth mentorship. Participants can register for one of three exciting tournament sessions, starting at 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm, and 7:00 pm.

The event will feature a round robin competition, culminating in a thrilling face-off where top players will compete for the title of Axe Master. Whether you’re an experienced thrower or a first-time participant, Targeting Potential is all about bringing the community together in support of a meaningful cause. “We’re so excited to be hosting this event! We love to give back to our community, and this is a wonderful opportunity to help a great cause,” said Matthew Colavecchia in a press release.

All proceeds support BBBSKLH’s mentorship programs — helping to ignite the potential in children and youth across Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton.

“We’re so excited to be partnering with Solidarity Axe Club for this one-of-a-kind event,” says Janice Balfour, executive director of BBBSKLH. “Targeting Potential is more than a fun tournament—it’s a chance to build awareness and raise vital funds so that more young people in our community can benefit from the power of mentorship.”
