Second Chance Thrift Store celebrates new location with community thank you day

The Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes invites the community to join them for a Second Chance Thrift Store celebration, Community Thank You Day as they mark one month in their new location and thank the community for its incredible support.

Since reopening at 232 Kent St. W., Unit 4 in Reeds Plaza, the Second Chance Thrift Store has welcomed shoppers and donors from across Kawartha Lakes. Every purchase and donated item helps provide food, shelter, medical care, and a second chance for animals in need.

To celebrate this milestone and recognize the community that made it possible, the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes will host a small celebration at the store on Tueaday, March 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The celebration will include 10 per cent off storewide; goody bags for the first 25 shoppers; an opportunity to round up purchases at checkout; and light refreshments.

“This celebration is about more than reopening a store,” said Emily Harris, executive director of the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes in a press release. “It’s also about thanking our community for their incredible support of the Second Chance Thrift Store. Donations of gently used items and purchases made in the store directly help animals receive the care, safety, and love they need while they wait for their forever homes.”

Community members, local businesses, donors, volunteers, and members of the media are warmly invited to attend and celebrate.
