Advocate: Where in Kawarthas Lakes do you live and for how long? 

Louie: Lindsay since 1983.

Advocate: What has been the most rewarding part of your retirement so far?

Louie: Supporting my favourite charities, and improving in my favourite sports. 

Advocate: Have your daily routines or priorities changed since retiring, and if so, how has that affected your lifestyle or sense of purpose?  

Louie: Yes, I spend a lot of time playing local sports as well as going to the gym. I’m trying to stay healthy and fit so I can continue enjoying them.

Advocate: What advice would you give to people who are planning for retirement in the next few years? 

Louie: Having wealth at retirement is great, but it won’t do anything for you if you don’t have your health. Find physical activities that’ll help you through retirement.

Advocate: What do you do on a daily basis to stay busy?

Louie: Soccer, pickleball, golf, board member and building maintenance volunteer at Humane Society KL, board member KL Pickleball Association, former treasurer for KL Soccer Club for 15 years.
