Name: Robyn James
Occupation: Senior Director of Marketing at Ampere
Advocate: Where in Kawarthas Lakes do you live and for how long?
James: I've lived in Lindsay for 12 years.
Advocate: What makes Kawartha Lakes feel like home to you?
James: The access to calm, open spaces like parks, lakes, rivers, and walking trails.
Advocate: What's something that the community needs?
James: More affordable housing. With the increase in homelessness, the rising cost of living, and the lack of employment, this continues to be one of the greatest needs across the country, including in Kawartha Lakes.
Advocate: What's one thing that you would change about the community if you could?
James: I wouldn't change much, but one small improvement would be to draw more awareness around the benefits of composting. I'm thrilled that composting was introduced a year ago, but it appears as though many houses are still not actively taking advantage of the curbside organics’ programs. Perhaps more awareness and support.
