Passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on March 28, 2026. Now at rest with his beloved wife Anne Thomas (nee Gilbank). Cherished by his loving daughters Kim Johnston and Tamara Adams (Brad). Devoted grandfather of Shayne Johnston (Christie), the Late Tyler Johnston (2017), Emily Johnston-Coulter (Jackson), Meghan Yasinski (Nathaniel) & Summer Thomas. Proud great grandfather of Grayson & Hailey Yasinski. Laverne will be deeply missed by his siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.

Laverne will be remembered for his kind smile and his remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. He carried a spirit that nothing could hold back, facing life with determination and warmth. A well-liked and deeply appreciated man, he left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

In keeping with Laverne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private family graveside service held at Emily Cemetery in Omemee.
