Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) is pleased to announce that Dr. Luke Johnson will begin practicing with the Kawartha North Family Health Team (KNFHT) at their Fenelon Falls clinic starting in July.

Ross Memorial Hospital and Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Services are partnering to implement a new program called Fit2Sit beginning on May 30 that will help reduce delays and allow paramedics to get back into service within the community faster.

With the support of the Ontario government, more Kawartha Lakes seniors are being supported to stay safely in their homes while awaiting long-term care through the city’s community paramedic program, according to a media release.

Kelly Isfan, president and CEO of Ross Memorial Hospital, issued a statement following ‘Bill PR65 2022 – An Act respecting the Ross Memorial Hospital’ passing third reading in the Ontario Legislature today.

The Ontario government is building 63 new and 65 upgraded beds at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Bobcaygeon.

A similar bill was proposed in 2020, known as “Private Bill 21,” which saw hundreds of people gathered in a meeting at the Lindsay Recreation Centre determined to stop it from passing. File photo.
